For This Year’s Traditions, Think Home Décor

November 9, 2010

The economy is tight.  And because of that, many people are staying closer to home – remember all of those summer commercials and articles talking about how to have the best stay-cation! Some are downsizing to smaller homes.  Others are staying put and investing in updating the home they are in.  In either case, this is a perfect year to bring some beauty to your loved ones’ homes with a special piece that they will treasure for years to come.

Where are you headed for Thanksgiving?  Wouldn’t the host just be thrilled to have you show up with a gorgeous Yamazaki cheese tray filled with amazing cheese and spreads that they can keep as a thank you for all their hard work and hospitality?  And each time they use it after that, they will think of you and your thoughtfulness.
Hanukkah is right around the corner.  What about a handmade menorah or a mezuzah made in Israel?  They are perfect gifts for a young couple just starting to make their own traditions together or a wedding gift for that December wedding you’re going to.  Or maybe for a child who celebrated their bar/bat-mitzvah this year.  A keepsake menorah they can use in their own home one day.  Is someone going through a hard time?  A beautiful Hamsa might be just the thing to lift their spirits as they begin a New Year.

And don’t forget Christmas.  How about a gorgeous new serving platter for your friend who just re-modeled her kitchen?  Or a sterling silver frame that showcases all the wonderful baby milestones for that friend who just found out she’s pregnant with her third baby.  And what a surprise for your wife to find a stunning piece of artwork under the tree as a sign that you are finally onboard with her redecorating your bedroom!

So this year, when everyone is staying a little closer to home, it’s a perfect time to add that little piece of you to your loved one’s everyday.

Happy Holidays!
